LKC welcomes applications from all who want to develop their understanding of theology, Christian ministry and mission. Each programme has its own application and admissions process.
If you are ready to apply for one of our accredited Undergraduate or Postgraduate courses, the Application Form can be downloaded here. Please see more detailed information about the process for each of our courses below.
Please note that the deadline for applications for 2024-25 entry for those needing Student Visas is Friday 31st May.
After viewing the information on our website, you may be ready to apply – in which case, please download and complete our Application Form.
But if you have further questions, please contact us for information about any aspect of life studying with us at LKC, including Disability Support and Finance, and we can arrange for you to speak with the MA Programme Leader, or to visit LKC.
After you apply, we will usually invite you for an interview – to get to know you, to explore your hopes for study and to identify the right course and pathway (including full-time or part-time). It is also an opportunity to meet with Registry colleagues, providing your ID and qualifications, and visit our onsite facilities.
You’ll normally hear the outcome of your interview within a week (unless, for example, we need further information from you), but we’ll always keep you informed and you can contact us as any time too.
If you are offered a place to study your Registration and Induction will take place in September and we will look forward to welcoming you into the LKC Community.
Once you have viewed the information on our website, you may feel ready to apply or you may have further questions.
Often your first contact is with Phil, our Academic Administrator, who receives Applications and will help answer questions about our courses and any aspect of life studying with us at LKC. You may also wish to have an informal conversation with the Principal of Open College or another tutor, or to visit LKC.
We welcome any questions you may have, and will always support you with finding out the information you need to make decisions about beginning study, including things like Disability Support and Finance.
Once you are ready to apply, please download and complete our Application Form.
We may contact you if we need further information and will normally then invite you for an interview with two members of academic staff. This is an opportunity to find out more about your hopes for study, help discern the right course and pathway (weekend or midweek? Full-time or part-time?), discuss any support needs you may have, and for you to ask your questions too! You will also meet with Registry colleagues to arrange the necessary paperwork, for example providing your ID and qualifications, and to introduce you to the support available with Disability, Study Skills, English language etc.
It’s a great way to get to know us a bit more, and for us to get to know you and help you find the best study options for your individual circumstances.
You can expect to hear the outcome of your interview within about a week, but we’ll always keep you informed or let you know if there are further steps or information needed as a result of our conversations, and you can contact us as any time too.
If you are offered a place to study your Registration and Induction will take place in September and we will look forward to welcoming you into the LKC Community.
If you are interested in studying at postgraduate research level with us, please complete this initial enquiry form. The application process is outlined here. As part of the application, you will write a research proposal outlining your plans for research. Download guidelines to writing this important document here.
If you would like an informal discussion about the possibility of studying at postgraduate research level with us please contact the Programme Leader, Jonathan Tallon.
Arrangements are made for students to transfer from a course of study at another Higher Education institution to LKC, or from LKC to another such institution. This is done on the basis of ‘Accreditation of Prior Learning’ (APL). It allows credits gained to be transferred from one course to another in accordance with the regulations of the institutions concerned. If you would like more information about this, please contact us. A full Accreditation of Prior Learning Policy is available on request.
Our Chaplaincy Studies and Community Work Programmes often involve a considerable amount of placement work or other experience and so we will discuss your previous experiences, current contexts, and possible opportunities with you as part of the interview process.
We are always happy to discuss these aspects informally prior to completing an application if you would find that helpful, and our specialist Community Work and Chaplaincy tutors will usually take a lead in helping you think through the options, along with Registry.
Please contact us with questions, for more information, or just to chat about the process. We will always be pleased to hear from you!
At LKC we are committed to providing a high quality admissions service which is fair and transparent. We recognise, however, that there may be occasions when an applicant feels dissatisfied with the way the admissions process has been conducted or with its outcome and every reasonable effort will be made to deal promptly and efficiently with all complaints and appeals, to investigate them thoroughly and objectively and to seek to resolve them satisfactorily.
