Adam serves as a Minister of Word and Sacraments in the URC and carries out that ministry at Luther King Theological College, where he holds the roles of URC Principal and tutor in pastoral psychology on the Chaplaincy Studies Programme. He is originally from Dublin, and has spent most of his adult life living and working across the UK. Currently he lives with his husband, who is a minister in the United Reformed Church. His interest in pastoral psychology is rooted in his experience working as a chaplain and working within mental health services as a psychologist. Teaching and learning are two of the great passions in Adam’s life, and he loves interactions with students in the classroom and the process of learning from each other.
As a person of faith, Adam is deeply nourished by the contemplative and non-violent traditions found within Christianity and other world religions. He practices Centring Prayer and mindfulness, which help ground and foster a deeper connection with God and with others.
